The updated list of smoking cessation centres across the country is published in the “Guida ai Servizi Territoriali per la cessazione dal fumo di tabacco – Guide to Local Services for Smoking Cessation”, produced annually by the National Institute of Health.
The Smoking Helpline, mentioned on cigarette packets, is a telephone service run by the Observatory on Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs (OssFAD) of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS).
It is free of charge, anonymous and available Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
This service is available to anyone interested in obtaining information about smoking.
Furthermore, the service supports and encourages smokers on their journey to quit smoking (through the use of proactive telephone counselling).
